On the NYC Subway:

We are all sitting right next to each other. I have more physical contact with strangers than with friends. And it’s new people everyday. On the way there. On the way home. And so many people are in a tiny place doing their best to not acknowledge anyone around the. Remaining isolated on our way to do our business. And we know we are surrounded by other human beings. But I’m sitting right next to you. Practically touching. And I know nothing about you. We willingly suspend normal social rules on the subway and sit next to perfect strangers because those are rules on the subway.
