On letting the world in:
Because when you venture outside of that door, you let the world in. You let other people in. You open yourself up to transformations that seemed inconceivable. And the world surprises you and hurts you and shocks you. And you realize that you have an impact on other people’s lives that you had never before realized was possible. And you wonder who you will become next. And who you will meet next. And how the world will creep into your life. Because no matter how much you predict, you will never anticipate what will happen next. And time will pass. And you will be different. And time will pass and you will be the same. But you must open yourself up to the possibilities. And face the fear. Acknowledge the fear. And run head into it with all cylinders running and be transformed again and again.
